8 August 2011 marks the beginning of a brand new chapter of my life. The love of my life proposed to me at 0000. It was really a memorable and pleasant surprise. Many people asked me what he did. So I'm gonna write it all down for all to read:
We bought tickets to watch The Lion King on the 7th with Eunice and MK. So in the beginning I planned to chill out after the event to celebrate his birthday. However, on the 6th, he said that he had to go to school early on the 8th so we should just get back home after watching Lion King. And we did.
So when I got home, it was already 2330. I quickly bathed so that I could call him at 2350 to wish him happy birthday over the phone. When I called him, he said he will call me back a few minutes later because he was parking his car. When he called back again, I wished him happy birthday and he said he has a gift for me too. I thought he was at my doorstep, but he told me to go to the kitchen and look out of the window. At the window, I saw the most beautiful sight I've ever seen in all my life.
I was at a lost at what to do. He told me to go downstairs. I rushed to the door but realised I had to take a picture of this beautiful scene before rushing down and so I did. When I reached the field, there were cheers and claps from the neighbours who were standing at their kitchen windows. I was already in tears. He gave me a BIG bouquet of 99 roses and told me that from this day forth, he's "giving" me his birthday and that it's no longer just his birthday but ours.
He gave his promises and knelt down on one foot to propose. Some neighbours shouted, "Say yes!" I was too touched to say anything and I just nodded. So he gave me the ring and put it on for me and we hugged. The neighbours cheered and clapped again.
Then he told me that our friends are at the side. At first, I saw someone taking photos next to us. I thought my neighbours are so good that they even came down to take photos for us. Are the photos gonna appear on STOMP? Then I realised it was his friend, Nicholas who were taking photos for us. The only thing I could say then was, I'm very unglam. I was wearing my sleeveless top and FBT shorts. But since it's a surprise, I guess it's ok.
So from 8 August 2011 onwards, my life is no longer my own but with Ken Yeoh Ghim Boon. My dearest darling, we will go through everything together, be it good or bad. We are TOGETHER in all that we do. I am yours and you are mine! Thank you for being such a gentleman who always put me first in all that you do. Thank you for loving me for who I am and willing to share your life with me. I LOVE YOU!!!

PAssion Run 2011
I finally did my first 25km run on 21 May 2011.
I wasn't really looking forward to it initially. However, I was thinking since I've paid for it and I have no good reasons not to go, I should just go ahead. Moreover, my motto in life is "If I never try, I will never know..." So with that in mind, I decided to give it a shot.
Things didn't turn out well before the race though. Ken was supposed to run with me, but he got into a car accident and his car had to be towed away. He dropped me off at Jumbo Seafood restaurant to use the washroom then I had to walk quite a distance to the starting point. The weather was really hot. I was already soaked in perspiration while waiting for the race to be started. I was really going with no motivation.
However, things took a change for good when Mr Yam Ah Mee appeared and rara the crowd by giving a short speech. People were cheering for him and it was hilarious! I couldn't help but laugh.
I continued jogging non-stop except slowing down at water points for the first 10km. After 10km, my speed decreased and I really struggled at my last 9km as I experienced pain in my knees and feet. I was then greeted by Ken who joined me in my last 7km run. By then, my knees were already in great pain. So I walked, jogged and stopped for stretching here and there with my best running buddy/boyfriend.
I was very happy to have completed the whole race in 3h 30min without giving up although I thought I could finish everything within 3h. Nevertheless, it was a great workout.
Indeed, all things are possible! Impossible is nothing!

2 months 4 days...
It's our 2 months 4 days together today. Everyday I thank God for blessing me with a man who loves me more than I love myself. I am thankful that I gave this a relationship a go! Even though many said that we should have been together long ago, I believe in God's timing. I believe God has His plans for letting us wait for such a long time before WE finally dared to step out.
So far, everything has been very good. The only thing is, our time together is always short. We have too many things to do in school and we stay so far away from each other. Both of us are always tired after meeting up, not because we don't enjoy each other's presence, but because every minute and seconds count and we didn't want to depart from each other till late at night. Moreover, after meeting, we both knew that we still have loads of work to complete.
I really hope that this time issue can be solved. I wish we have more time together. I wish we are less busy. I look forward to our holiday in June~!

Writing a book
After sharing my stories of the horrible things I always faced in school, my friends always encouraged me to write a book. I'm pretty interested to write one, but don't know where to start from. I guess, no point starting from the scratch. My blog is my book.
Today I wanna criticize protective and defensive parents yet again.
I brought some pupils out for competition today. At 1pm, the players had their lunch and were warming up at the multi purpose hall. I was shocked to find out that one pupil did not bring his bat! I was disgusted by his attitude. He said he didn't play during the first and second day, thus he shouldn't be playing and so he did not bring his bat. Terrible attitude. Why did he even bother coming at all? He knew that his dad will be going for the competition but he didn't even bother to call his dad to bring his bat.
To cut the long story short, his dad brought his bat for him. He came over to me and explained why his son did not bring his bat. He said it's his mum's fault for taking the bat out of his bag.
Next up, while our pupils were playing against a very strong team, he threw a ball out. When I asked why he did that, his peers told me he told them that he wanted to distract the opponent. What an unsportsmanlike behaviour. I walked over and scolded him angrily. He said he just wanted to throw at the blue barrier. Whatever his reasons were, he was supposed to be cheering for his teammates and not doing something else. I was disgusted when the dad came over and defended his son's actions again. He said he knew his son. He was just trying to throw the ball at the barrier because he was anxious about his match. He also told me that he would coach his son himself. Sure! WHATEVER! Seriously, now I truly understand why the boy is like that.
The same boy pissed me off again today during training when he just stood around watching his peers play. From 1.30pm to 5pm, he stood around watching. He went around disturbing others and spraying water at others. That explains his unpolished skills. I really feel like taking him out of the school team. We don't need such an uninterested player who refused to train. I mean, what's the point of coming for training then? Why is he here?
These few weeks on news, the whooha was on the maid who carried the bag for the NS man. What has our next generation become? They are so dependent on others to cover their backside for them. Maybe one day the news will show the parents carrying bag for the sons and the parents writing in to defend their sons when their sons couldn't hold the rifle properly or wear their uniform correctly.
Can I still live in Singapore? Will Singapore still be safe by then?

Pampered VS Rugged
It's been a long while... Happy Chinese New Year to all my friends!! I'm babysitting now. So might as well blog while I look at my cute niece.
Exaggerated incident:
Boy 1: He elbowed me. Very painful. My muscle and the bone are in pain. He did it purposely.
Boy 2: I didn't. I don't even know I knocked into him.
At 1.15pm the same day, boy 1's father came angrily to look for me and demanded that I call the other boy's parent to inform them about it and said that he wants to claim from them if his son needs to go to the hospital.
I was so disgusted. How bad can a knock be? I could only appease him by saying I understand where he's coming from. He insisted that it is not the first time that someone hit his son and no teachers did anything. He must be frustrated for a year and I'm the suay one to get it this year. Kids being kids, they often didn't know when they knock onto others. In fact, today a boy just knocked onto me. I really couldn't stand such exaggerated complains of pain. Seriously 小气! How will this boy survive in NS next time? I realized, it's always such people who always complain to us that people are bullying them. @_@ I'm sick of seeing such things day in and day out. Maybe it's better to teach in a neighborhood school. The kids are not pampered. In fact, they need love which I wouldn't mind giving.
Here's a totally different response from another boy:
He ran and fell badly faced down during PE. He was in great pain as he hit his own stomach on the floor. His elbow was bleeding, palms, knees and face was with abrasion. He stood up in great pain and walked to the pavilion to rest on his own, sobbing in pain. At the end of my lesson, he assured me that he was fine. And he went to the general office on his own. I admired his tenacity. Although it's totally different incidents, the tolerance for pain is what I really take heart in.
Maybe that's the difference in a pupil in the top class and one in an average class. Pampered vs rugged. I'm biased to the rugged. :)

End of Week 1 in 2011!
It's the end of week 1! I fell sick yesterday. Ate some medicine but it didn't help much. Just took the same medicine again. Really hope I will be well tomorrow. Looking forward to exploring East side food with Jane and Deb tomorrow. But I wonder if Jane will "fly my kite" again. Anyway, we made a pact with each other: If she fly my kite again, she will have to give me $50. If I drink more than 2 pints of beer a week, I will give her $50. What a good deal!!! I'm very sure I won't exceed 2 pints of beer a week. In fact, I don't drink every week.
By the way, here's some resolution for 2011:
1. Cut down on beer and sweet drinks
2. Exercise at least 3 hours weekly (include playing kinect)
3. Pay all credit card bills on time
4. Save at least 50% of annual income at the end of 2011
That's all I could think of for now. I think they are all achievable!
